Jesus (Yeshua) In the Flesh

Someone told me I worship 2 Gods. They believed if you believed in Jesus and what He did for our sins, that we (Christians) believed He was a God too. I tried to explain that we believe there is only One God, because there IS only ONE God, God the Father. He agreed with me on it being only one God. But I had to explain to him, we didn’t worship the same God. If we worshipped the same God we wouldn’t have different beliefs and a different bible. If you want to understand who Jesus is read this.

But before I get into this mini-study I want you to understand. Before Jesus revealed himself to me, I was on a quest to find the true God. I studied different religions especially the Quran, and then I prayed for the true God to reveal himself to me, because I didn’t want to be led astray, and needless to say He did.

Let’s begin with reading John1: 1-6.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made, and without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1-5

Now I want to take you a few verses down, in the same chapter to verse 14, of John chapter 1:

The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

First I want to expound on John 1: 1-6 from above ☝🏼

Do you see where the ‘ Word’ and God existed together in two different capacities. They were one and they were ‘with’ each other and everything that God made He made through the WORD. Could this ‘Word’ possibly be Jesus?

What or who is the Word? Remember In the beginning God created the World by speaking the ‘Word’. In Genesis chapter 1… beginning with verse 3, it starts with, ‘God SAID.’

“And God said, “Let there be light,”a and there was light. Genesis 1:3”

If you continue to read all the way to verse 26 of Genesis Chapter 1, you will see when, “God said let there be”, when He SPOKE the WORD , things were created. God used the Spoken WORD to create. Again, in John 1:1-6 (above) it states everything that was created was created THROUGH the WORD.

Next, Read John 1:14 (above). What happened to the Word in this verse? The Word, became flesh and dwelt among us. The Word in the fleshly form is Jesus (Read verse 14 again, see above).

In Romans 8:29 it says the Word (in His fleshly state, Jesus) was the first of many brethren. It didn’t say Jesus was God.

“For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” Romans 8:29

During creation He was an extension of God in the form of Gods spoken Word. But when God placed the Word here on Earth he is now the first of many brethren, who we call Jesus. (Side note his real name is Yeshua, I just didn’t use it in this post because many can relate to the name Jesus)

You might say to yourself… why the whole change of existence? Why was Jesus notated as ‘the Word’ when He was with God in Heaven, but here on Earth He was the first of many brethren. Why the change in ‘being.’ I asked God about this and He explained, ‘purpose’. The Word in heaven that was with God and was God was purposed to create, as the Spoken Word. That purpose was accomplished, God created the world by speaking the Word. But as the world became sinful, we (humans) needed redemption (to be saved) and reconciled back to the Father. That’s when The Word became flesh, the Word was now purposes to redeem mankind in the form of Jesus.

We had to be reconciled spiritually back to the Father because sin separates us from God Spiritually. Jesus purpose was to do that. Just to explain the spiritual separation that occurred, Do you recall when Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden and hid themselves?

“Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”
He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” Genesis 3:8-10”

Why did God ask them, “Where are you.” He’s God right? He knows everything, right? Yes, He does know everything. He didn’t ask that because He didn’t know where they were in the physical, he asked that because there was a spiritual disruption by way of sin. If you recall before Adam and Eve ate the fruit, He told Adam not to eat it and if he did, He would surely die.

“And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

They didn’t die in the physical, because they were still alive. Right? Well Kinda sorta, they died a spiritual death, spiritual death is separation from God. Sin separates us spiritually from God. That’s why God asked, “Where are you.” Sin had separated them from God – God is Spirit.

This is why Jesus, or the WORD, was made flesh. The Word now had added purpose to save the world from sin and reconcile us back to God spiritually. God made him flesh and placed Him here with purpose to take on our sins and die for them in our place, so that we can be reconciled back to God.

“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Roman 10:9-10”

Although Jesus WAS deity, on Earth He walked as a human just like us, remember He was the first of many brethren. We who confess with our mouth, Jesus is Lord and believe that He died on the cross for our sins and rose again on the third day to be reconciled back to the Father are saved.

Jesus in the flesh wasn’t, nor is he God, because God is a Spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth. Jesus was flesh; although he accomplished a great feat by walking in the incorruptible Spirit of God, without sinning while he was here on Earth. Because Jesus walked in total submission to God and what God told him to do, you can reverence him as the highest Priest, but here on Earth he was man and the first of many brethren. We reverence him as our savior because of what he did for our sins. For those of us who believe in what Jesus (Yeshua) did and Live by the Spirit of God, have the same Father, which makes us brothers and sisters in Christ.

Remember, there IS only ONE God. But because of what our ‘big brother’ did, now our Father has many children.

God bless and God insight.
