The Value of Beauty

I think every woman or man would like to be the only one their significant other has eyes for but in a world of social media is it possible? With so many distractions and connections, with different faces and bodies to choose from, can one ever be satisfied with admiring the ‘beauty’ or ‘handsomeness’ of one person? I can, but so many can’t.
Nowadays when someone tells you, ‘you are beautiful’ its hard to determine which category of beauty you have been shelved next to. Are you next to the big booty beauty’s, the busty bombshells, the sexy girls next door, or the undercover freaks? I think its a thin line between seeing a passing beauty or handsome man with a casual ‘oh they look nice’ look’, verses a few seconds of a stare or admiring with lust on a social platform.
But ask yourself does it really matter. Does it matter when someone tells you, you are beautiful? Do those words still hold weight? Well, I think they do. I believe those words hold weight when your ‘inner you’ tells you, ‘you are beautiful.’ When you know you are beautiful, despite what may appear to be a big stomach, a blotchy face, thin hair or any other outward extremity that society has noted with a negative connotation. It matters when you know your worth and don’t compare yourself to anyone’s outer beauty. Our beauty is deeper than an outward appearance. Our beauty holds value, spirit, personality, knowledge, intellect, discernment and so much more while….co-existing with our outer appearance.
It’s okay to accept a compliment when someone compliments you with a ‘you are beautiful’. Reply to them ‘thank you’ and keep it moving. But don’t allow those words spoken by someone else to determine your worth. People profess that compliment to many women and men on a daily, whether it’s with a spoken word or with lustful eyes. Those compliments hold no value and should never compare to the value you place on yourself. The compliment that holds the most value is the ‘I am beautiful’ you give yourself.
You are the final ‘say so’ as to how beautiful you are. Be content in YOU, and never compare yourself to anyone. YOU are uniquely YOU and…… I am uniquely ME. Know who and whose you are and say to yourself….my beautiful sister/brother…

“I AM BEAUTIFUL” “I AM BEAUTIFUL”

‘Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.’ Proverbs 31:30

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well. Psalms 139:14
